Memphis Tigers Basketball Welcomes Shalon Pillow as Chief of Staff
The Memphis Tigers women's basketball team has appointed Shalon Pillow, a former player for the Tennessee Lady Vols, as their new chief of staff. Pillow brings a wealth of experience, having played under the legendary coach Pat Summitt and served as an assistant coach at both Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State University. Memphis head coach Alex Simmons expressed enthusiasm about Pillow's extensive background and leadership skills, stating that her addition will enhance the coaching staff and provide valuable mentorship. Pillow's coaching career includes a stint as head coach at Florida A&M, where she led the team from 2021 to 2023, and she also spent the last two years coaching at Saint Andrew's School in Florida. During her collegiate playing days, Pillow was a prominent figure at Tennessee, contributing to two Final Four appearances and four SEC championship victories.
